A group of three students from three different design disciplines ( communication, industrial, and interaction) were assigned to discover a daily object that requires improvements. As an art student, having difficulties to reach in bags or pockets for our wallets in order to swipe cards is a common shared experience. Thus, we've decided to design a cardholder that is reachable, portable, and also aesthetic considerable. First we came up with tough situations that happen frequently. Further on into making the prototypes with shapes and materials that best fit our design needs. In conclusion, wood was chosen as the material with our logo laser-cutted on top. The mechanics within allows the cardholder to function two ways, users can either slide the card horizontally or vertically accordance to how the card should be swiped.
