This is a publication introducing six articles about typography. The articles and relatable images were placed considerably on designed grids. The challenge for this project was to be very considerate about all aspects. The font size, font choices, layouts, title pages and pull quotes were all careful decisions.
JOURNAL ABOUT TYPO
Through explorations and iterations, the content layout was changed from horizontal layout to vertical placement. Some color decorations were also eliminated.
The whole publication was built based on modular grids. Title pages for each articles features characteristics from the author's design styles or artworks.

I played around columns of texts by using the restrictions from the grid I set up. In each articles, minimum of three illustrations or images is included, along with some pulled quotes.
This is one of my favorite layouts from the publication. It shows my bold intentions and the sense of playfulness. I wanted the publication to be interesting by playing with scale and color diversity.
As I mentioned in previous image, I tried to create some controversial layouts such as splitting the author's portrait in half (which we don't often see in serious typography publications).
The inspiration for this title page was from the author's artwork.
